Compatibility
Will it work with your laptop? Almost always yes. It needs a USB-C port that also carries video, which most laptops from the last few years have. Look for the lightning bolt or DisplayPort symbol next to the port.
Every MacBook with an M1 through M5 chip works, and Intel MacBooks work too. On Windows, macOS and Ubuntu, install the free DisplayLink driver once. ChromeOS needs no driver at all.
No USB-C port on your laptop at all? Connect instead with the included USB-C to USB-A cable. Apex 3 has two USB-C ports: one for video to your laptop, one for power from the included 65 W adapter.

Display
Three 15.6-inch matte panels in Full HD, 1920 × 1080 at 16:9.
Refresh rate is 60 Hz, brightness is 300 nits. Low blue light is built in, good for long days at the screen.
Colour covers 72% NTSC, which is plenty for everyday work, browsing and video.
Matte means no reflections from windows or overhead light, and it stays readable outdoors.
Connectivity
The ports on Apex 3 itself: 2 × USB-C, 3 × mini HDMI and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, plus two brightness buttons on the device.
The two USB-C ports each do one job: one connects to the laptop and carries video and data to all three panels at once. The other takes the included 65 W adapter.
The three mini HDMI inputs work independently of USB-C. Plug in a console, a second laptop or another source, and that one panel shows that signal on its own, separate from the other two. A PlayStation or Xbox can run on one screen while the other two keep working.
DisplayLink is built into the device. Install the free driver once on Windows, macOS or Ubuntu. ChromeOS needs none.
